Announcements: August 12, 2017

THIS WEEK’S TOP THREE
1. We will be participating six times in the Acacia Project in 2017. Future dates are August 17, October 12, and December 14.
List of Items Needed for August 17:
20lbs ground beef; 10-12 large cans of black beans; 6 large bags of corn chips; 2 very large bags of shredded mexican cheese; 3-4 large bags of shredded lettuce; 3-4 large containers of Roma tomatoes; 2 bottles of Picante sauce; 2 3lb containers of sour cream
Please reply to Pastor Darwin if you intend to help and what it is you will bring. You may also donate monetarily to this effort.

2. We will be celebrating Heritage Sabbath on August 26. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Nicholas Kersten, Director of Education & History for Seventh Day Baptists. Come and help us celebrate our heritage and history. Our next planned church fellowship will be a meal after gathered worship on August 26 to celebrate our Heritage Sabbath. More details to come. There will be a Diaconate training and seminar on August 26 after Gathered Worship and during the meal for anyone interested in serving as a Deacon or in knowing what the role of Deacon is.

3. We will be starting discipleship for all ages beginning September 9 at 10am. Everyone will have a chance to participate in the Gospel Project. We will also have a class on select Tuesday evenings on the Gospel Centered Life at Pastor John’s home beginning September 5. Contact Pastor David for more information.

DISCIPLESHIP
SpringsLife Kids is ramping back up for another 3 year cycle and could use your help. If you have not volunteered to participate yet, please talk with Pastor David about how you can be involved.

 

There will be a Diaconate training and seminar on August 26 after Gathered Worship and during the meal for anyone interested in serving as a Deacon or in knowing what the role of Deacon is.

The Gospel Centered Life class will happen on select Tuesdays at 6:30pm at Pastor John’s home starting September 5 for anyone who is interested. Dates will be: September 5 and 19, October 3 and 17, November 14 and 28, and December 5, 12, and 19.

STEWARDSHIP
Wednesday Workdays are back. They will be from 6-8pm on the following dates: August 16, September 20, October 18, November 29, and December 20. If you can help, show up or contact Pastor John.

WORSHIP
There will be a prayer gathering every Sabbath before Gathered Worship in the “purple” room downstairs starting at 10:30am.

FELLOWSHIP
Our next planned church fellowship will be a meal after gathered worship on August 26 to celebrate our Heritage Sabbath. Contact Pastor David for more details.

We encourage families in the church to invite each other to meals at homes or in restaurants and to parties with friends.

MISSIONS/EVANGELISM
We continue to take up collections of non-perishable food, clothing, and toiletries for Crossfire Ministries in the green container towards the back of the sanctuary. This month we are focusing on toiletries. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit their Volunteer Page here. For other ways to support their ministry, visit here.

Where’s Pastor John and Pastor David? Pastor John and family are at Next Step Christian Church in Thornton, CO to celebrate Kingdom Victory Day. Pastor David is taking a vacation day to be with his family.
